Truths We Stand By

Truths We Stand By:

  • We are an African people.
    • Africa is our homeland.
    • Our objective is Pan-Africanism: a liberated, unified and socialist Africa.
    • This objective will mean permanent liberation for all African people no matter where they happen to be born or where they live in the world.
    • Socialism is the economic system to build.  It will mean that the wealth produced will be used for all of the people, not just 1 % of the people.
    • Our enemy is capitalism, in all of its forms (slavery, colonialism, neo-colonialism), and it must be destroyed.
    • Our ideology is Nkrumaism:  Using our own history and culture, it points the way to our liberation.
    • Organization is the key.  It is the way in which we can achieve our objective.  (“Sticks in a bundle are unbreakable.” African proverb)
    • Political education (learning our history, culture, and present reality) is what we must struggle for right now.

Meanwhile, each of us must embrace our traditional African principles:

    1. Humanism:  treat people the way we’d like to be treated.
    2. Collectivism:  work in a group for the benefit of all.
    3. Egalitarianism:  give each person (whether female or elder, young or disabled) an equal opportunity to develop to her/his fullest.

“Our people must be able at all times and without fail to distinguish our actions from those of the enemy.” Samora Machel, “Establishing People’s Power to Serve the Masses”
